Iran's annual petrochemical production capacity is set to reach 100 million tons.

The Oil Minister said, "In a few days, with the commissioning of five petrochemical complexes, Iran's petrochemical production capacity will increase from 90 million tons to 100 million tons.

Javad Owji, during a joint press conference with the government spokesperson on Saturday, June 22, highlighted a 53 million cubic meter increase in gas production, a 10 million ton rise in petrochemical production, and an expansion in the country's refining capacity under the thirteenth administration. He stated that in a few days, with the commissioning of five petrochemical complexes, Iran's petrochemical production capacity will increase from 90 million tons to 100 million tons.

Over the past three years, 11.5 million cubic meters of associated gas have been collected daily. In the coming days, another 4.5 million cubic meters will be added to this amount, bringing the total to 30 million cubic meters per day by the end of the year.

The Minister of Oil added that the 13th administration has attracted $5 billion in investments from the private sector and large domestic holding companies in the West and East Karoun regions.

At the recent GECF summit, Oji referred to Iran receiving the 2024 GECF award for flare gas recovery and stated that according to GECF statistics, Iran's average annual gas production growth in recent years has been 5.2% despite harsh sanctions, while the global average gas production growth during the same period has been 2.5%. This means that Iran's gas production growth has been double the world average.
