He stated, "This project, with over 80% physical progress, is in the final stages of construction and equipment installation."
Rahim Mahmoudi, in an interview with MesPress, discussed the latest status of the copper rod plant construction project, stating, "With an annual production capacity of 130,000 tons of copper rod, in addition to adding value to the copper cathode product, it will meet the diverse needs of the country's industries for this essential product."
Emphasizing that the goal of this project is to diversify the product portfolio of the National Iranian Copper Industries Company, he added, "Copper rods have extensive applications as feedstock for cable manufacturing and wire production, and ultimately various industries such as refrigeration, electrical panel production, transformers, and automotive manufacturing. Therefore, there is a suitable market for this product."
Referring to the estimated investment of 20 million euros for the construction of the Sarcheshmeh copper rod plant, the Deputy of Planning and Programming of the National Iranian Copper Industries Engineering and Development Company noted, "To date, about 13 million euros in foreign currency and 238 billion tomans in domestic currency have been invested in this project."
Emphasizing the use of the latest world-class technology in the production line of this plant, he stated, "The copper rod production plant is being constructed at the Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex, and with its commissioning, the product portfolio of the National Copper Company will expand. Therefore, it can be considered one of the most important projects of the company for the development of downstream industries."
