Deputy Minister of Oil and CEO of the National Petrochemical Industries Company emphasized the need to collect flare gases with the aim of protecting the environment.

The Deputy Minister of Oil and CEO of the National Petrochemical Company said:

One of the main priorities in the petrochemical industry is environmental protection and flare gas management.

According to NIPNA, the first meeting of the specialized working group to examine the status of flare gas collection and reduction of flare burning in the petrochemical industry was held with the presence of Hassan Abbaszadeh, Deputy Minister of Oil and CEO of the National Petrochemical Company, and senior managers of the company.

In this meeting, the CEO of the National Petrochemical Company, referring to the need for holding companies and petrochemical complexes to pay attention to environmental protection, stated: By implementing the flare gas collection strategy, in addition to protecting the environment, part of the feed needed by petrochemical complexes to complete the value chain will also be provided.

In this meeting, an analytical report on the status of flares in petrochemical complexes was presented by the HSE management of the National Petrochemical Company, and the need to manage flare gas burning was emphasized.

Other issues raised in this report include the study and analysis of the position and share of Iran's petrochemical industry flaring in the world, the Middle East and the entire country, the study of flaring of petrochemical complexes in the Pars Asaluyeh Special Economic Energy Zone, the amount and materials flared in the complexes (including CO2, CH4, N2, H2, CO, C2H6, ...), and also the flaring of petrochemical complexes in the Asaluyeh region from a production perspective.

According to this report, the economic value of flared gases, flaring of Asaluyeh petrochemicals from an environmental perspective, as well as the opportunity to use the legal capacity of the Seventh Development Plan based on the priority of petrochemicals in investing in gas fields and flare gas collection plans were among the other issues that were examined.

According to NIPNA, in a specialized meeting to review the situation of flaring in the petrochemical industry, which was held recently with the presence of Hassan Abbaszadeh, Deputy Minister of Oil and CEO of the National Petrochemical Company, and senior managers of the company, it was decided to form a special working group to review this issue and investment opportunities in this field, focusing on production control
